The Association so-called " Vaincre La Mucoviscidose " is founded in 1965 under the name of " Association Française de Lutte contre la Mucoviscidose " (AFLM), which is recognized by a bill of 12 July 1978 as an organization with public interest. Its goal is to support the patients suffering of cystic fibrosis, until a complete cure. With this goal in mind, VLM helps the CF patients and their family to overcome all kinds of everyday difficulties, such as the moral or material problems. It defends the interests of CF patients and their families with regarding their rights. It diffuses the information concerning the new genetic testing methods and new therapeutics. It helps to coordinate and facilitate the treatment and patient care. It is also involved in improving the social life of CF patients: educations, formation and jobs. It informs the public opinions about the CF diseases. It promotes the scientific researches on CF diseases. It makes contacts and exchanges with similar organizations in foreign countries. |
