hSAEC: small airway

General Information

Epithelix is offering primary Human Small Airway Epithelial Cells (hSAEC), passage 1, isolated from biopsies.

They are commonly used for in vitro studies related with pulmonary diseases and chemical testing. They are now a standard for research on asthma, COPD, cancer, cystic fibrosis, bacterial and viral infections. These cells are also a useful tool for the screening, testing and validation of drugs candidates.

Pathologies

Epithelial cells can be available from different pathologies :

  • Normal
  • Smoker
  • Allergic Rhinitis
  • Asthma
  • COPD
  • Cystic Fibrosis

Performance

Using an in-house technology and know-how, our cells have the following features:

  • A fast growth rate
  • Very good proliferation and differentiation capacities
  • An improved and uniform morphology
  • Very good reproducibility

Description and Maintenance

Cells are supplied in a cryogenic vial containing more than 1'000'000 viable cells in a volume of 1 mL of freezing medium. The vials with cryo-conserved cells will be shipped on dry-ice. Upon arrival, the cells must be taken out and transferred to a storage facility with liquid nitrogen (-196 °C).

General Media Requirements

The culture of these cells is best performed using Epithelix Culture Media.
These media are serum free, chemically defined, and ready-to-use.
Available in 500 mL format.

Quality Control

All batches are performance-assayed and tested negative for HIV-1, mycoplasma, hepatitis-B, hepatitis-C, bacteria, yeast and fungi.
